Poem: Dance of the bee-eaters
With quarter moon at its apex
and the equinox in sight
the dance of the bee-eaters
celebrates the coming Autumn
Swallow I am and Spring incarnate
on cranes waiting to hop
to fly to the Eastern lands
as travelling merchant
and bearded troubadour
to meet the girl who dreams of becoming
in the eyes of a foreigner
that which her circumstances deny
